Let’s keep trees in the ground, not turn them into brochures

Introducing the Showcase Forest Releaf Fund

You’re saving trees while you’re managing your content with Showcase!

A single tree produces an average of 8,500 sheets of paper. That’s 17 reams of standard office copier paper.

For every 8,500 slide views in your Showcase app, you’re saving a tree - because every page view is one page not printed out.

We think that’s a pretty great start. But we wanted to make it even better.

In 2018 we created our Forest Releaf Fund. For every 8,500 slide views our users make, we donate $10 to Trees that Count. And that $10 buys and plants one native tree.

Since the Forest Releaf Fund began, we’ve helped plant more than 2000 trees.

The Showcase Forest Releaf Fund is more than just a charitable marketing program with a moderately clever name. Read the Founder Story here and find out why we decided to launch a program to help save trees.

Congratulations. That’s great for you, what about my business?

Fair question.

So with every $10 donation, you double your impact. You already saved a tree by not printing pages in the first place, and then you planted a fresh new tree with every 8,500 page views in Showcase account.

If your organization saves 20 trees in a quarter (that’d be 170,000 page views across your organization), we’ll give you the option to make that donation in your company name.

But really. Why trees?

Trees don’t just produce the air we breathe — they clean it too. Trees filter out harmful micro-particles and pollutants; they are nature’s own purification system, and that’s why we must save them.

Trees also catch and clean our water, preserve our ecosystem, help fight climate change, and support many people’s livelihood.

And why native trees?

You might think “a tree is just a tree,” but the truth is that each species of tree has its own unique characteristics and interaction with its local environment. Nature designed these complex systems and we need to make sure those elements remain intact, as best we can — for the environment’s sake and our own. Native trees provide their own unique set of benefits.

Going paperless is a no-brainer when you’ve got the Showcase app on your mobile device.

Digital sales and marketing collateral is…

  • More versatile
  • Easier to distribute
  • Almost painless to change
  • Traceable and measurable

Digital content also paints your company as forward-thinking and efficient. Here’s where things get really interesting, though…

Using digital marketing and sales materials helps protect our forests, cuts down on carbon release and decreases pollution.

In 2014, 406.5 million metric tons of paper and cardboard were produced worldwide.

4,000,000,000 trees are cut down each year for paper production.

Even with the increased availability of digital tools, we use 400% more paper today than 40 years ago.

45% of office paper printed ends up in the trash by the end of the day

So by using digital content management tools, you’re doing so much more than increasing efficiency.

Keep up the good work.

Those of us who live and breathe here on Earth with you sure appreciate it.

PS: Some of our customers have asked if we would donate to a charity in their own country. After all, the Showcase home country of New Zealand is already pretty clean and green. Why should we get all the trees? Here’s the thing: The logistics of giving to charities in other countries would diminish the amount of funds we have to give. For now. As our company grows and becomes increasingly global, it will become easier to give to other charities.
